The University of Minnesota is seeking a Grants & Contracts (G&C) Professional 1 for the North Central Region Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program.
This position provides primary operational support for NCR-SARE's grant programs. The role manages the end-to-end workflow for application cycles across six programs, including compliance screening, reviewer recruitment, and review committee coordination. Additionally, the position handles routine financial logistics for review committees and supports tracking of approximately 200 grantee reports annually to ensure alignment with program requirements. Operating within established protocols, the position ensures all grant management, financial, and reporting outcomes meet institutional standards.
NCR-SARE is one of four regional offices that run the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program, a nationwide grants and education program to advance sustainable innovation to American agriculture. Since 1988, NCR-SARE has awarded more than 3,000 competitive grants to farmers, ranchers, researchers, educators, public and private institutions, nonprofit groups, and others in 12 states. The SARE program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA).

This position requires travel among worksites, including travel to off-site locations throughout the North Central region (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin).
