Bruce Branham is an Illinois SARE State Co-Coordinator and a professor of Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois where he studies horticultural cropping and food systems. His research focuses on management and production issues in perennial crops ranging from turf grasses to small fruits.

Doug Gucker is an Illinois SARE State Co-Coordinator and a Local Food Systems and Small Farms Extension educator with University of Illinois Extension where his work demonstrates practices in the areas of farm management, soil health, nutrient management, integrated pest management, and grazing.

Christa Hartsook is the Iowa SARE State Coordinator and is the Small Farms Program Coordinator for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. She helps connect people to resources at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Kerri Ebert is the Kansas SARE State Coordinator and coordinator for the Kansas Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Alternative Crops at Kansas State University. Kerri is a fourth generation Kansas farmer who, with her husband, raises purebred sheep in Pottawatomie County.

Michigan State University Extension
Dean Baas is a Michigan SARE State Co-Coordinator and is the Sustainable Agriculture Educator for Michigan State University (MSU) Extension. He is involved in cover crop, soil health and organic agriculture research and education. Farmers and commodity groups are an integral part of his projects and programs. He is also a member of the Midwest Cover Crops Council Executive Committee.
Wayne Martin is a Minnesota SARE State Co-Coordinator and an Extension educator in alternative livestock systems for University of Minnesota Extension. He provides information and education on poultry, sheep, lambs, pigs, and to some extent, cattle.
Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture
Kate Seager is a Minnesota SARE State Co-Coordinator and works for the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture’s Information Exchange, which works to bridge the gap between the need for timely, practical information about sustainable agriculture and existing resources and information.

Dan Downing is a Missouri SARE Co-Coordinator and has more than 28 years of service with the University of Missouri Extension. 17 years of that time have been spent serving in a statewide position with The University of Missouri Extension Water Quality Program.

Touria Eaton is a Missouri SARE Co-Coordinator, Assistant Professor of Horticulture, and the State Horticulture Specialist at Lincoln University in Missouri. The focus of her research and extension work is sustainable production of horticultural crops.

Karl Hoppe is a North Dakota State SARE Co-Coordinator, a sheep producer, and the Area Extension Specialist for Livestock Systems at the North Dakota State University Carrington Research Extension Center where he has been teaching nutrition and management for beef cows and feedlot cattle for more than 20 years to North Dakota cattle producers.

Clair Keene is a North Dakota State SARE Co-Coordinator and as an Area Extension Specialist in Cropping Systems at the Williston Research Extension Center, where she works with North Dakota farmers to address weed management concerns and tackle issues of soil conservation and soil health with cash crop diversity, cover crops, and residue management.
